ABOUT

What I Do

ADHD, Autism, SEN, Animal-Assisted Therapy

Dayna’s journey with her Autistic child over the last 20 years has brought about much knowledge and eye-opening experiences.

Witnessing the lack of services in Asia compared to other parts of the world, she strives to make a difference and provide a positive catalyst to the special needs community in the near future.

As a certified Animal-Assisted Therapist, Dayna can collaborate and plan programs for SEN individuals, SEN groups, and any individuals through Animal-Assisted Intervention activities. She is versed in Social Emotional Learning and will incorporate this knowledge into her AAI programs. She is currently actively using therapy dogs in the AAI (Animal Assisted Intervention) program to empower the Mental-health community and SEN community, combining her counseling and hypnotherapy skills to achieve

more effective results.

Dayna’s services extended to all ages.

Post Junior overview

In this video, Dayna Lim sums up an outline to help parents build a deeper foundation on both academic and independent skills for their child on the spectrum. For a higher functioning child, we should try to help them develop a consistent hobby, which Dayna covered in her "skill and talent building" video. From there, there would be a higher chance of helping the child carve out a career out from the hobby if possible. Dayna also mentioned how Special Needs Parents have to be good role models and balance their own lifestyle.
Vocational Exposure

Vocational Exposure

In this video, Dayna Lim shares how parents with children on the spectrum should start exploring vocational exposure once they reach middle school age. A lot of children end up at home with not much to contribute after middle school if they are not able to attend college. If parents can seek out opportunities earlier (and there are some international schools in Hong Kong who would collaborate with some organizations for work experiences) there will be more to explore after graduating from middle school. Interventions during early years for the child on the spectrum should also try to align with what’s possible out there as job opportunities.

Skill & Talent building

Skill & Talent building

In this video, Dayna Lim shares her thoughts and experience on how parents with a child on the spectrum can try skill and talent building with them. Dayna suggests starting a hobby to get the child to focus, and continue practicing the hobby until it becomes a skill or eventually develops into a career. Some skills that kids on the spectrum have may seem difficult to develop into something functional, so starting from hobby development will make it more fun and promote continuity.

Testimonials

ADHD, Autism, SEN, Animal-Assisted Therapy

My daughter is ten years old this year, and recently she has had the privilege of receiving psychological counseling from Dayna. With her professional guidance and patient companionship, my daughter has made significant progress in her concentration and emotional management.

Dayna is very loving and highly professional. She listens patiently to children's feelings, understands their emotions, and guides them gently and effectively to learn how to better express themselves and manage their emotions. In terms of learning, my daughter has also become more focused, more organized, and more confident and positive overall.

As a parent, I am extremely grateful for the support and help Dayna has given our family. She has not only helped my child but also taught me how to better understand and accompany my child's growth. I sincerely recommend her to all families who need psychological support and guidance.

We are incredibly grateful to Ms. Dayna for being Weiping's counselor and trainer.

Working with her, we witnessed firsthand how her professionalism and patience impacted our child.

Weiping has consistently faced challenges in emotional management, particularly his frequent outbursts of anger. Ms. Dayna developed a personalized counseling plan tailored to his specific needs and used her expertise to help our child learn how to recognize and manage his emotions.

The techniques and strategies she provided were not only effective but also easy for Weiping to understand and apply. He gained a deeper understanding of emotional expression, and we noticed significant improvements in his behavior at school and home.

Ms. Dayna's patience and support made Weiping feel understood and respected, which had a profound positive impact on his self-confidence and emotional well-being. We highly recommend Dayna as a counselor; her professional skills empower every child to better manage their emotions and build healthier relationships.

Thank you so much, Dayna!

My son, Elliot, is four years old this year. When he was around two, we began to notice that he was different from other children his age. This difference left us as parents feeling lost and unsure how to effectively communicate and interact with him.

Fortunately, we met Dayna. She not only provided Elliot with professional and meticulous individual guidance but also gave us, as parents, many practical and valuable suggestions and support, allowing Elliot to steadily progress in the right direction. Whenever she noticed any inappropriate behavior or developmental deviations in Elliot, Dayna was always quick to recognize them and patiently provided targeted guidance and adjustments.

With Dayna's help, Elliot has undergone a surprising and remarkable transformation, from initially being completely unwilling to interact with other children to now actively and bravely reaching out to new friends and building relationships. This journey has been challenging but has also witnessed Elliot's progress and increased self-confidence. All of this is thanks to Dayna's professional dedication and selfless contributions.
